POOL STRUCTURE
This
is the first of 3 emails I will be sending you to explain changes in
the 2014 Confidence Club pool.
CHANGES
TO POOL STRUCTURE
As
a consequence of the Microsoft decision to not support Windows XP any
longer, a number of web servers that were previously used to support
our pool software have been replaced with newer hardware.
This resulted in the software not working on those servers. I
have purchased new software (same software – major changes).
It is too late in the pre-season to customize that software so that it
offers the same options as last year, so I have altered some of the
offered pools. Additionally, the software relies more on the
web, rather than email, which introduces more changes. Ok –
enough with the technical stuff. Here is what matters to you:
- ALL users must register using the online
registration. You will not be placed in the pool until you do
so, and your picks will NOT be accepted by the software.
- When you register, you select the pools
you wish to be in. The SportsBox pool is not an option, if
you wish to play in that pool, send me an email letting me
know.
- ALL users must submit their
picksheets USING the pool alias you selected. Failure to do
so will result in your picks NOT being accepted by the software.
- Your pool alias cannot contain any
characters other than letters and numbers, and must be less than 17
characters in length.
- The menu is presented across the top of
the page, as it was a few years back.
- The Parlay Pool has been replaced with a
Top 5 Pool. Please read the pool description under the Rules
tab on the menu.
- The Hit or Miss Pool has been replaced
with a SportsBox Pool. Please read the pool description under
the rules tab on the menu.
- There will be no 2nd Survivor
Pool.
